Bonus post: Riding the L from end to end

Canarsie is at the eastern terminus of the L train (officially known as the BMT Canarsie Line), so to get there yesterday I decided to ride the length of the L. This became the second line on the MTA I’ve ridden the entire way — the first was the Times Square Shuttle, so I really stepped up my game here.

I know that some of you are sad that you were unable to undertake this feat with me. Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. For your subway-edification, I give you a slideshow of my ride from Eighth Avenue to Canarsie — Rockaway Parkway and back. Each picture was taken just after the doors closed at the named stop. Enjoy!

(Tip: the first slide is the above picture.)

Good stuff. Reminds me of the Matt and Kim song “Good Ol’ Fashion Noghtmare” and the lyric contained therein: “Riding trains to end of lines. Still we’ve got nothing but time.” And knowing them, good chance they were talking about the L!
