Week fourteen: Bedford-Stuyvesant

… more familiarly known as Bed-Stuy, home of that boy Biggie. My friend Ted, who accompanied me on my very first trip back in March, made the selection.

The card’s color was a good fit.

Bedford-Stuyvesant is a large neighborhood east of Clinton Hill. The general area also comprises the sub-neighborhoods of Tompkins Park North and Stuyvesant Heights, which are separate for my purposes.

Tompkins Park North (northwest) and Stuyvesant Heights (southeast) are in yellow.

I have a feeling I’ll be spending a long time in the stacks today – again.

  1. Growing up, I never heard of “Tompkins Park North” and no one but the people who lived on the blocks with those brown signs paid any attention to Stuyvesant Heights”.
